Snake Bit

Once again, I had the privilege of preaching at my church this last Sunday. You can download the message here. The message was only on Numbers 21:4-9, not the whole chapter.

I had wanted to catch up with you yesterday to tell you I appreciated your message--I guess the message will have to be delivered through the blogosphere.

I especially appreciated/felt convicted by the way you exhorted us about our own grumbling hearts.

I look forward to each time you speak.

I find it fascinating in Num 21.7 that the people treat Moses as intermediary/priest rather than Aaron.

We ask each other to pray for us, but they seem to be under the impression that God wouldn't listen unless Moses did the praying.

Well, Micah, it's not as dramatic as that. In Numbers 21:7, Aaron is dead. He died back in Numbers 20:28.
Besides, Moses had a history of intercession for the people when they had rebelled. We ask people to pray for us, perhaps, when it's obvious they have a close personal relationship with God.
